| IN VITRO |
ON THE POLITICAL SITUATION, August 1990.
|
When birth precedes gestation, Malformation must occur. |
In nature abhors a vacuum, It detests unnatural disorder. |
We crescent-curled embryos, First thought, then words, then flesh, |
Were conceived in political vitro, And implanted from a wish. |
We have grown middle-aged, Waiting to be born. |
And for umbilical sustenance, From within we’ve gnawed the womb. |
Enlarging in uterine darkness, Blind instincts have undergone change. |
Love has curved into sickle hate, Patriotism for matricide exchanged. |
