THE CENOTAPH
THOUGHTS UNSUNG, THE BELL UNRUNG

When I die, I suspect

My passing will go unsung.

That baleful bell shall not toll.

It’ll hang mute, unmanned, unrung.

My naked grave will barren lie,

Intended wreaths unstrung.

Let your love be my epitaph,

This raw verse my unhewn cenotaph.
