There will be no dramatic change

in my fortunes.

I will always remain this

unfulfilled mediocrity. 

No lightning bolts of revelation

will strike me, no angels appear

with messages of salvation.

I am too old for virgin rebirth,

not dead enough for resurrection.

I must reconcile myself to cowardly Fate.

It wills unseen, escapes debate.
