IF YOU FORGET MY FACE

If you forget my face,
look in the mirror. 
You will see a trace 
of what I once was.
Look closely. You'll see
me hiding behind your eyes, 
just as I see my yesterdays 
reflected in you.  

Are you the saviour moon,
that with its lanced light,
rescues my darkness 
from the claws of night?
