Is one corridor enough? Can this artificial umbilical link nourish a new amity? The Punjab Guru Nanak knew is divided like Kartarpur itself, one half on each side of the river Ravi. Division was not what the Guru preached. He practiced co-existence, not hate. He never scissored but sewed your community with mine, and mine with a different other. Divisive interests have torn his cloak to shreds, his words bent into tools of political ingenuity. Bala, Mardana and Guru Nanak Dev live within us still as Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs: a trinity of irreligious hostility.
